I think summer is just hard for everyone as they are trying to fit in all the "outside" stuff. Maybe waiting until it gets cooler like it is now would boost attendance. Just a thought.

I've been to this hair museum with my family...and it was very cool. Small, but a very cool place.

We could combine it with another small Independence location, like the 1859 Jackson County Jail Museum...

Mark

Historic Sites & Day Trips:: February Day-Trip -- Truman Library & Museum -- Feb 22nd -- 1pm
Thanks for the well wishes, Tara. I took a sick day today after I finished my morning Dietary course exam. It gave me some time to catch up on some things I wanted to post...

I think that would be great. I haven't been there since I was in high school. It was actually a really fun place to tour.
Michelle

Historic Sites & Day Trips:: Cool head stones
Very interesting thought - but how true it is! Sounds like something my dad would have said if he were still around. By the way, check out the following website for more interesting tombstones:

http://www.findagrave.com

Go under the interesting monuments link in the left hand column. To date, there are pics of 156 different monuments on the site. They range from a granite piano headstone to a larger than life dollhouse being built for a small child that died before Christmas. My favorite would have to be the one with the parking meter attached to the monument with the birth and death date on the meter and the "time expired" flag raised.

You can also search for your favorite celebrities and see their monuments.

Kim
