Man, Ranier, you are right! I say :::double sigh:::

I wanted to read a (NOT CHILD FRIENDLY) post about finding cold spots...

Stupid "post removed by poster".

Of course it was something outrageous and inappropriate and maybe even (fingers crossed) vulgar! But that is what I get for withdrawing into my personal pity party for 6 weeks. I miss all the good stuff!

Well I won't do that again! I vow to stay current with this message board thing and never again miss the drama!

Sorry all, I used the link feature above and it didn't work, so I'll try a cut and paste.

Hey everybody! Great to see the boards pick up. It felt like we hit a dry spell for a while, huh?

Anywho, great story below, not just for historians, or friends of the 1859 jail, but a great lesson for all of us parents of teenagers. Always look for holes in the floor!

I suppose if he'd "advertised" that he was going to be there, he'd have been overrun with groupies. But had I known, I'd have made sure my calendar was clear to go... I heart Barry.

He's not much to look at...I think it's his vast techie knowledge delivered in that accent... I'll drink a pint to that!

First of all, Jimmie, your ideas are really good. It's important for us to remember that we need approach each situation methodically, no matter where we fall in the range of believer to skeptic.

Secondly, grannysantiques, what exactly did you mean by "smudging" the three floors of the house? Quote:
The first day I got the keys my daughter and I smudged the entire 3 floors of the building... just because it seemed like the thing to do.

I'm going out on a limb and guessing that you are referring to the Native American custom of Smudging Ritual used to help cleanse and clear the air of negative influences and attract positive energy. (One of my best friends and her husband are Native Americans - just wanted to clear it up so everyone else knew too. )

I'm assuming (and we know what that does) that you had been in this building before, at the very least with a realtor, inspector, etc...did you have any feelings or experiences at any of those times?

Great article in the Independence Examiner recently about the Arcadia Valley Academy history and haunting activity. For those who don't know, Ghost Vigil spoke and did an informal investigation there in September 2008 (AVA-CON 2008), where I first had the privledge of meeting some of the crew. There was supposed to be another conference this fall, but it fell through.

Anywho, enjoy!

What a great story! (Especially considering our Grand Pooh Bah is a cop). It is so nice to read and hear about a feel good story every now and then, especially when it comes to law enforcement. Thanks so much for sharing.

My kids love it. They are GH fans too, but it's much easier to follow along without all the bleeps.

The kids really do seem to be pretty logic in their approach and thinking. I'd like to think it is another example of how the field is gaining acceptance.

Truly the universe is full of ghosts, not sheeted churchyard spectres, but the inextinguishable elements of individual life, which having once been, can never die, though they blend and change, and change again for ever.
